AppleTree Academy fell into her lap of Miss Stacey after many years of working with children. After college, Miss Stacey worked in the dental field co-running the sealant program for preschools in Peoria County. She then took a few years off from the dental field to raise her children, care for young children within her home, teach Sunday school classes at her local church and volunteer as room mom at her daughter & son’s Elementary School. After a lot of thought she returned back to school to earn her credits in Early Childhood Education, she worked as a teacher in a local day care for ages 2 years to grade school age. Then with the help of her husband began the process of opening AppleTree Academy. Miss Stacey enjoys working with children because she feels that they are little miracles. Each child possess unique qualities that are so much fun to experience and teach!! In her free time she enjoys reading, exercising, spending time with her husband, kids and puppy. She is very excited to soon be spending time with her new granddaughter.
My name is Stacey Seei. I am a wife, mother, grandmother, and co-owner of AppleTree Academy Daycare & Preschool. Growing up I did not have any siblings, which always made me somewhat sad. I decided early on that when I grew up and got married I would have a houseful of children. Well, reality set in, and my husband and I soon realized that we could not send a houseful of children to college.
Instead, I fulfilled my dream of having a houseful of children by going into Early Childhood Education. I eventually received a position teaching preschool at a local childcare center where I taught for ten years. It was the best decision that I have ever made! Being a teacher and helping and watching children learn and grow are priceless.
It was at the local center that I met my friend and business partner, Hanna Compton. We worked side by side and talked about our dream of someday owning a childcare center. Our dream became a reality in 2005 when we found a piece of property and took the plunge. It was a great experience planning and building, and in June of the following year, Hanna and I opened AppleTree Academy Daycare & Preschool. I was the assistant director with Hanna until 2014 when I made the transition to the kitchen where, presently, you will find me happily cooking for our AppleTree Academy children—cooking too has always been a passion of mine! I love to see the children’s happy, enthusiastic faces when I deliver lunch and snack. I feel truly blessed to be a part of our endeavor; it has been and continues to be an exciting adventure. I look forward to many more years of meeting and serving the young children of our community. I know as a parent that choosing a daycare and preschool center is a huge decision. I would like to sincerely thank you for choosing AppleTree Academy and please accept my heartfelt welcome to the AppleTree Academy family!
